Black communities are often disproportionately affected by, and less resilient to, the health impacts of extreme weather and climate-related disasters. These populations are particularly vulnerable to the impacts of climate change due to a myriad of factors including location, lack of funding for climate mitigation infrastructure, and reduced emergency preparedness capacity. Creating resilient communities that are prepared to respond to climate-related events is imperative to building health equity in Black communities
