Valeisha Butterfield is a transformational leader at the intersection of tech, entertainment, and social impact, shaping culture and shifting power for over two decades. As the founder and CEO of SEED Media, Valeisha is building a modern storytelling empire—producing iconic books, films, and television that center untold narratives and global influence. Previously, she served as co-president of the Recording Academy (home of the GRAMMYs), where she helped lead some of the most diverse and top-rated shows in its history. She served as VP of Global Partnerships and Engagement at Google, building initiatives that connected underrepresented voices to global products and platforms. She was also a leader and architect of voter engagement for the Obama campaign, helping deliver one of the highest turnouts in U.S. history. Valeisha is a board member of GRAMMY Global Ventures and honorary chair of the Recording Academy’s Black Music Collective.
