Tim Reid is an Emmy-nominated actor, director, and producer who has appeared on television for over three decades, from Venus Flytrap on “WKRP in Cincinnati” through “Simon & Simon,” “Frank’s Place,” “Sister, Sister,” HBO’s “Treme,” and recently OWN’s “Love Is” and “Greenleaf.” Reid made his directorial debut with his critically acclaimed feature, “Once Upon a Time…When We Were Colored.” Tim’s other film projects include “Asunder,” starring Blair Underwood, Debbi Morgan, and Michael Beach, and “For Real”, which Reid directed and produced. He also co-produced “Race to Freedom: The Underground Railroad and created and produced the acclaimed Showtime TV series “Linc’s.” He recently launched the TV series, Legacy of a People. Through his non-profit Legacy Media Institute, he instructs an international group of students and emerging filmmakers, promoting excellence and accountability in creating media that reflects a diverse global society. Reid is the recipient of the Oscar Micheaux Award from the Producer’s Guild of America for outstanding lifetime achievement.
