Shawn Outler is a seasoned executive with over 30 years of experience in the retail industry across multiple categories and businesses. Named chief diversity, equity & inclusion officer of Macy's, Inc. in 2018, Shawn is the architect of D&I strategy, initiatives, and performance metrics across the organization (Macy's, Bloomingdale's, Bluemercury, STORY). In 2011, she designed and led The Workshop at Macy’s, a retail development and mentorship program to educate and train minority and female business owners for success. Now in its 10th year, the Workshop is an industry benchmark and model for retail supplier diversity. Shawn’s has been recognized by the Business of Fashion 500 Class of 2022; Black Enterprise (Women of Power and Most Powerful African American Executives in Corporate America); and the NAACP Community, Business, Service and Multicultural Award.
