The Clean Slate Initiative (CSI) is a national bipartisan movement working to automate the sealing of eligible arrest and conviction records across the U.S. Under the leadership of Dr. Sheena Meade, CSI fought successfully to pass laws sealing records for more than 18 million people and secured a $75 million commitment from The Audacious Project to expand second chances nationwide. A nationally recognized leader and sought-after speaker, Sheena shared her personal story at TED2023, where her talk reached over 1 million views. She received an Honorary Doctorate of Public Service from Cheyney University in 2024. She was featured in John Legend’s award-winning documentary “Home/Free,” and collaborated with cultural influencers from Lady Gaga to the NFL. Before CSI, Sheena helped lead the successful campaign to pass Florida’s Amendment 4, which restored voting rights to 1.4 million people.
