Stephanie Johnson
Founder /95 Counties

Stephanie Johnson is a 7th-generation Tennessean and the founder of 95 Counties, a nonprofit dedicated to empowering the descendants of American slavery in Tennessee. Her mission is rooted in truth, justice, and honoring the ancestors who built this country. As a teenager, Stephanie led youth projects, spoke before elected officials, and cultivated a spirit of service that would continue into adulthood. While attending Regent University in Virginia, she became the school’s first student chapter president. Her leadership centered on anti-human trafficking advocacy. Through 95 Counties, she helps American descendants reclaim their family histories through free genealogy, fighting for policies that protect their rights, and embracing the power of the foundation they stand on.
