Ray B. Shackelford is passionate about creating equity for the Black community and ensuring that future generations are better positioned to be successful. Professionally, he is the Principal and Founder of Ozark Street Consulting, a social impact firm that provides a variety of services related to community education, advocacy, public policy, and leadership training. He established much of his foundation for community work through the Urban League. As of this year he has been a member of the Young Professionals for 14 years and been in leadership for the past 10 years, currently serving as the National Immediate Past President of the NULYP.
Ray’s education consists of a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration-Finance from Morehouse College, a Master of Business Administration from the University of Houston and is in the process of completing a National Fellowship in Public Policy at Georgetown University. He is a native Houstonian, highly committed to giving back to the community. He is a Board Member for the Houston Housing Finance Corporation, working to provide gap financing on affordable housing projects ensuring that they are both profitable and in the best interest of the community. Ray is also a proud member of the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc.
Ray wears a lot of hats, but none is more important to him than the hat of “father.” Ray is the proud father of a thirteen-year-old daughter, Jordan.
