Patricia Hogan Williams has more than 30 years’ experience as an educator. She heads The Patrice House, a crisis nursery and emergency shelter for abused and neglected children, and The Imani School. Under her leadership, The Imani School, grew from a preschool for 25 pre-K children to one of the largest Christian, independent private, predominately African American schools in the nation, serving students from preschool through eighth grade. The Imani School has received national and international recognition for its success in developing self-confident, strong values and academic excellence in African American children. Williams has received numerous honors and awards including The President’s Lifetime Achievement Award, the Association of Black Social Workers of Texas community service award, and the Outstanding Educator Award from the National Association for Financial Assistance to Minority Students.
