Rev. Lennox Yearwood Jr. is a minister, community activist, and one of the most influential people in Hip Hop political life. In 2003, he was named political and grassroots director for the Hip Hop Summit Action Network and, in 2004, was the architect of P. Diddy’s “Vote Or Die!” campaign To carry the energy beyond Election Day, Rev. Yearwood founded the Hip Hop Caucus, a non-profit, non-partisan, multi-issue organization that supports solution-driven community organizing led by today’s young leaders. in 2008, Rev Yearwood launched Respect My Vote!, a campaign that works with Hip Hop artists to engage young people in the electoral process. Dubbed “a new Green hero” by Rolling Stone Magazine, Rev. Yearwood has been successfully bridging the gap between communities of color and environmental advocacy.
