Green Book Global is the first and only Black travel review mobile app. After leaving his IT consulting job to travel the world for a year, Lawrence Phillips recognized the need for a platform centered on the Black travel experience. Inspired by the original “Negro Motorist Green Book” of 1936, Green Book Global was created to increase confidence and reduce the anxiety of Black travelers by providing user-generated travel insights from the Black perspective, in particular what it’s like Traveling While Black. The app has surpassed 100,000 downloads, ranked #28 in travel in the iOS App Store, and empowers users to book trips and earn cashback with brands like Marriott, Booking.com, and Viator. Lawrence is also a proud alum of the Expedia Group Accelerator program and is dedicated to advancing safety, inclusivity, and providing meaningful resources for Black travelers around the world.
