Kala Gibson oversees the Bank’s corporate citizenship work for Fifth Third Bancorp, which includes community development, community impact banking, corporate sustainability, inclusion, philanthropy,  volunteerism, and signature programs. He also serves as chair of the Fifth Third Foundation’s distribution committee and the bank’s corporate sustainability committee. Kala joined Fifth Third in 2011 and became the bank’s head of business banking in 2013. In 2020, he oversaw the lending component of the bank's Paycheck Protection Program. Kala chairs the National Minority Supplier Development Council (NMSDC) board and the Cincinnati Business Excellerator, and is a trustee of the  National Urban League. He has received several awards for his civic and professional contributions, including Savoy’s Most Influential Black Executives in Corporate America and Crain’s Detroit 40 under 40.
