Judy Reese Morse
President & CEO /Urban League of Louisiana

Judy Reese Morse serves as President & CEO of Urban League of Louisiana, the largest African American-led, African American-serving organization in Louisiana. The Urban League of Louisiana promotes economic self-reliance, parity, racial equity and civil rights for African Americans and others. Morse leads an executive team that oversees education and youth development, workforce development, entrepreneurship, and a host of policy and advocacy issues. Under Morse’s leadership, the Urban League of Louisiana received the largest gift in its 85-year history: $5.7 million from philanthropist MacKenzie Scott. Morse joined the League in 2018, and during her tenure, she has created the popular and ever-growing statewide Empowerment and Policy Conference in partnership with the Louisiana Legislative Black Caucus and Wake Up Geaux Vote, the Urban League of Louisiana’s non-partisan statewide voter education and mobilization effort which has actively promoted civic engagement during every election cycle since 2018. Morse designed and developed the SEE CHANGE Collective, a signature initiative that serves as a policy and practice catalyst to close the racial wealth gap for African Americans, Hispanics and Latinos. Morse created a health equity footprint for Urban League of Louisiana that creates policies and programs to address health disparities for African Americans in Louisiana.
