As a public defender, civil rights attorney, State Representative, and United States Congresswoman, Jasmine Crockett has dedicated her life to public service and ensuring equality for all. Elected to the Texas House of Representatives in 2021, she was the sole Black freshman and youngest Black lawmaker in Texas during the 87th legislative session, arguably the most conservative session in the state’s history. Despite the uphill climb, she assembled a broad coalition to pass landmark criminal justice reforms and was a founding member of the Texas Progressive Caucus. Crockett has served in the U.S. Congress since 2023, representing portions of Dallas and Tarrant counties. She currently serves on the House Judiciary Committee and the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform. She was also appointed as Communications Task Force Co-Chair for the Democratic Women's Caucus.
