Isha Haley, NUF ’09 is the Managing Director of Operations and Development. In this role, Haley is responsible for fundraising and general management responsibilities. She started her professional career as a New York City Teaching Fellow at Dewitt Clinton High School. To date, Isha believes her time as a teacher is what continues to fuel her passion for public service and what ignited her interest in National Urban Fellows initially.
Since graduating from National Urban Fellows in 2009, Isha has made a significant impact in the public sector as a serial entrepreneur. As a fellow, Isha was assigned to the National Association of Charter School Authorizers (NACSA), where Greg Richmond served as her mentor. At her mentorship placement, Isha quickly advanced, and was offered a full-time job as a Development Manager where her exceptional fundraising and partnership skills were honed.
Over the last ten years, Isha’s boutique consulting practice, Heart and Soul Community Development, has worked with nonprofits and government entities creating programs, managing complex public-private partnerships, and raising over $7million dollars in private and government funding across the country. Her most recent work in Indiana (No More Secrets) dubbed her Indiana’s 2018 business professional to watch, and landed her a role as a radio show host on WJOB-1230am in Indiana.
Isha has attained her Masters in Urban Education from Mercy College in New York and her Masters in Public Administration from Baruch College. She is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Incorporated and Rotary International.
