Dr. Glenda Baskin Glover recently retired as president of Tennessee State University—her alma mater—where she transformed the institution into a national model for academic excellence and equity, leading more than 8,000 students with a blend of strategic vision, moral courage, and relentless determination. She was appointed by President Joe Biden to serve as vice chair of the president’s Board of Advisors on HBCUs and has been a powerful national voice for correcting decades of systemic underfunding of Black institutions and for connecting top corporations with talented HBCU graduates. Dr. Glover has also served on the boards of several publicly traded companies, including her current role at PNFP. As International President, CEO, and Chairman of the Board of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., Dr. Glover led over 350,000 college-educated women worldwide in advancing education, economic empowerment, and community service.
