Goren Dillard
Senior Director of Workforce Development /Urban League of Greater Cleveland

Goren Dillard is a practitioner of change management and positive impact interventions. He positions organizations for growth and engagement opportunities.

As Senior Director of Workforce Development for the Urban League of Greater Cleveland he focuses on talent development and retention strategies to create value, sustainable relationships, programming, and partnerships. During his tenure at the Urban League, he has increased job placement and retention rates while launching an automated learning management system for remote training and skill development.

In 2022 Cleveland’s workforce effort was nationally recognized and received the National Urban League’s Movement Champion Award. In 2023 he completed The Aspen Institute Workforce Leadership Academy fellowship program to strengthen mission-based advocacy work in economic development. Prior to this assignment, he managed territories and executed strategic roadmaps for brands such as Viacom/BET Networks, CBS, and Xerox. His interest in economic and social impact investments was amplified during his tenure with NNPA the Black Press of America. As a VP he led the 220-member national trade association’s transition from traditional to digital media. This effort enabled 3rd generation business owners to expand their audience footprint and increase revenue streams in 112 local markets. He currently serves voluntarily on advisory boards to improve skills-based employment and advancement practices for diverse talent management in industry sectors such as Construction, Manufacturing, and Information Technology while coaching and facilitating team building workshops for small businesses. He also serves on a Board supporting Cleveland Manufacturers and fundraises for Black Rodeo USA. He is an member of the North Coast Chapter Tuskegee Airman to honor military service.

Dillard holds a BA in Government from Georgetown University and a MS in Positive Organization Development from Case Western Reserve University, Weatherhead School of Management. He is a certified facilitator for experiential learning and a fall prevention instructor for aging adults. He enjoys sports, time with family, friends and recreation activities.
