Furard Tate is a third-generation Washingtonian, award-winning speaker, and food industry performance coach dedicated to strengthening communities through entrepreneurship. With more than 22 years leading Inspire DMV Hospitality, he is a trusted food and hospitality consultant helping small businesses improve operations, drive growth, and achieve long-term success. He currently serves as the Director of Entrepreneurship Center at the Greater Washington Urban League, where he supports emerging entrepreneurs and expands access to economic opportunity. A committed community leader and co-founder of DMV Black Restaurant Week, Tate has built powerful networks that connect Black food entrepreneurs with resources, capital, and visibility. His work has consistently centered on creating pathways for underserved communities—training veterans, at-risk youth, and aspiring professionals for careers in the food service industry. Tate’s experience and impact closely align with DC REACh’s mission to expand access to capital and strengthen the small business ecosystem in Washington, DC. As moderator, he brings a deep understanding of local entrepreneurship, community development, and the importance of equitable procurement opportunities for small businesses.
