Speaker Bio
Debbi Howard leads and manages Tennessee State’s comprehensive alumni relations program, where she leads initiatives to strengthen alumni engagement, build strategic partnerships, and expand support for students and the university. A TSU alumna with a bachelor's degree in civil engineering and a master's in civil engineering from the University of Tennessee–Knoxville, Howard spent 26 years as a civil and structural engineer with the Tennessee Department of Transportation before returning to her alma mater. Debbi also serves as president and CEO of 2nd Chances, Inc., which creates pathways to safe, stable, and affordable housing for marginalized populations, including survivors of domestic violence, military veterans, formerly incarcerated individuals, and others facing housing insecurity.
