Carla H. Clements is an accomplished intellectual property attorney with more than a decade of experience safeguarding the brands that shape global commerce. She began her career at an Am Law 100 firm, advising Fortune 100 and multinational companies on complex trademark and copyright strategy. Over the course of her career, she has led global clearance programs, overseen cross‑border enforcement actions, and developed scalable brand‑protection frameworks that support business growth and mitigate risk. Today, Carla serves as Senior Counsel and Senior Assistant Vice President at Wells Fargo Bank, where she leads the company’s global trademark strategy, manages a significant international portfolio, and partners with senior business leaders to strengthen and protect one of the world’s most recognized financial brands.

A committed leader within the profession, Carla is an active member of the Hispanic National Bar Association. She was recently appointed as a Latina Commissioner and serves as a leader within the Corporate Counsel Division's mentoring program. Carla also contributes to the International Trademark Association as a member of the In‑House Practitioners Committee. Within her local legal community, Carla does pro bono work through Legal Aid of North Carolina.

Outside of her legal practice, Carla serves on the Board of Directors of Circle de Luz, supports her church community, volunteers at her children’s elementary school, and channels her creative side as a member of an a cappella group. Before beginning her legal career, Carla served as a Teach For America teacher, and she continues dedicate significant time to mentoring several of her former students. Carla and her husband are proud Duke University alumni who still enthusiastically cheer on the Blue Devils. She and her family reside in Charlotte, North Carolina and spend much of their free time traveling.
