Brian Whittaker is a former federal executive and, most recently, the chief innovation officer at the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC). He is an executive in the private sector and the founder of Humans of Public Service (HOPS), a 501 (c) (3) organization. This award-winning platform has shared the stories of more than 200 public servants, humanizing public service to inspire others and build the government we deserve. After starting his career in the private sector, Brian transitioned to public service, holding leadership positions at the General Services Administration, the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, and the FDIC. In the federal government, he has led organizations prioritizing the use of technology to improve public services. His projects included initiatives to streamline the farm loan application process and revamp the online submission and processing of civil rights claims. In the private sector, Brian is developing an approach to spark and implement innovation across the public sector.
