Dr. Alric Simmonds is AdventHealth’s inaugural chief health equity officer. His goal is to provide a clinically sound, economical, and culturally sensitive approach to the provision of care in special populations and the attainment of health equity for all patients. Dr. Simmonds is a board-certified surgeon whose professional awards include the U.S. Special Congressional Recognition, the University of Central Florida College of Medicine Excellence in Surgical Education Award,and Howard University’s Chairman of Surgery Award “for superior Leadership and teaching Ability. A sought after public speaker, he appears at forums such as Modern Healthcare, the American Hospital Association, Health Equity Alliance and the Society for Robotic Surgery.
