Amber Monet is a Temple University alumnus and an award-winning filmmaker who aims to shed light on people, events, places, and happenings denied platforms for storytelling in mainstream media. Amber directed and edited “Freedom Beyond These 4 Walls,” winner of the jury selection award at the International African World Film Festival. In 2020, she directed the documentary, “The Legendary Marion Williams,” which explores the life and triumph of an American gospel icon. Earlier this year, the film was showcased at the Pavillon Afriques in partnership with AAWIC at the Cannes Film Festival. As a founding member of the production company Daphne Pictures, Amber has served the Philadelphia Film Festival screening committee since 2018.
