Teaching Professor /Penn State School of Labor & Employment Relations
Professor Arthur Matthews is a long-time passionate educator. At the Penn State School of Labor and Employment Relations, he teaches courses that cover labor and employment law, as well as race, gender, and employment. For over 30 years, he has served as a facilitator, mediator, arbitrator, and hearing officer in resolving intractable conflicts. Matthews served as president of the Student Bar Association at Howard University School of Law, where he hosted one of the last public appearances of Honorable Supreme Court Justice Thurgood Marshall. He has lectured extensively at institutions such as Harvard Law School and designed and taught an unprecedented course in mediation at the Clinton School for Public Service in 2017.
