Dr. Alan Curtis
President & CEO/Eisenhower Foundation

Alan Curtis leads the Eisenhower Foundation in Washington, DC. Previously, he served as co-director of the Crimes of Violence Task Force on President Lyndon Johnson’s National Violence Commission, executive director of President Jimmy Carter’s Interagency Urban Policy Group, and urban policy advisor to Secretary of Housing and Urban Development Patricia Roberts Harris. Dr. Curtis has testified before Senate and House committees and served on many boards, including the Congressional Human Rights Foundation and the American Academy of Political and Social Science. He has published in The New York Times and The Washington Post, and has written or edited the books “Creating Justice In A Multiracial Democracy,” “Criminal Violence, Locked in the Poorhouse,” “American Violence and Public Policy, Patriotism, Democracy, and Common Sense,” and “Healing Our Divided Society.”.
