As an educator, Zakiyyah Ali is a dynamic educational consultant who develops and trains school district leaders, universities, and community-based organizations to help them effectively address race, diversity and inclusion, and equity disparities in the classroom. Zakiyyah also founded Rebuilding Timbuktu, Inc., a virtual, intergenerational reading group whose goal is to encouraging readers, educators, and families to incorporate Black authors and texts into their reading, research, and curricula. Recently, she was a 2021 Essence Festival panelist for the Impact Panel sponsored by Disney, ESPN, and The Undefeated’s Kelley Evans Show.
