Oliver M. Thomas, Jr.
Councilmember District E New Orleans

The Honorable Oliver “OT” Thomas, Jr. was elected in 2021 to serve as councilmember of District E - Orleans Parish. He began his career in public service as a member of Black Organization for Leadership Development (BOLD), a local community improvement organization and was appointed legislative aide to city councilmember and BOLD leader, Jim Singleton, In 1994, Thomas would succeed Singleton to become city council member for District B. In his current role, Councilmember Thomas serves on several council committees including the Budget, Audit, and Board of Review Committee, the Climate Change and Sustainability Committee, and, as chair, the Criminal Justice and Public Works, Sanitation and Environment Committees. Thomas is also the author of “Reflections: A Man and His Time” and hosts the WBOK Radio Morning Show.
