Nancy-Johnson
Nancy Flake Johnson, President and CEO of the Urban League of Greater Atlanta, is an advocate for urban and economic development, education, workforce development and advancing the black community through economic empowerment. She has led the Urban League of Greater Atlanta, Inc., since 2008 and she is passionate about partnerships and collaborations as a strategy to support youth, adults and families to move up the economic ladder.
During her tenure, the League has expanded its workforce programs to provide broader support to in-school and out of school youth, young adults, the long term unemployed, job seekers with barriers to employment, professionals, and returning citizens. The League’s revenue has grown five-fold and the agency has secured more multi-year funding that is enabling the League to provide the in-depth support job seekers often need to achieve their goals that results in greater impact on the people and communities the League serves.
She is an active member of the Georgia Education Equity Collaborative and serves on the City of Atlanta Workforce Development Board, Georgia Chamber of Commerce Better Education Standards Coalition, the Emerald Cities Task Force, and the National Urban League’s Education, Workforce, Health and Housing Task Forces.
