John is the Senior Director of Community Affairs at Walgreens with over 29 years of leadership experience in community relations and investment, and  human resources. Since 2005 he has been responsible for leading community outreach, corporate citizenship, charitable giving, partnerships with non-government organizations.  As a member of Walgreens CSR group, he serves on cross functional teams for health equity, disaster recovery/emergency response, vendor diversity, cause marketing, sustainability, and executive civic engagement. John joined Walgreens in Human Resources as a management recruiter in 1993 and became director of recruitment in 2005.  In his former role, John was a catalyst for Walgreens becoming one of the nation’s top organizations for collegiate management recruitment - developing a retail internship program, diversity recruitment programs, and internal new market recruitment during the fastest growth period in company history. He also serves on the Walgreen Assistance Inc. Foundation (President),  Walgreen Employee Benefit Fund, (Officer and Board Member) and was appointed by the governor to the Serve Illinois Board  (Commissioner).
