Chris Tabourne is Vice President of Diversity Strategic Initiatives at Enterprise Holdings, focusing on the Enterprise Holdings Foundation’s ROAD Forward initiative, which will increase Respect, Opportunity, Achievement and Diversity (ROAD) for youth and families by addressing three social and racial equity gaps in need of urgent attention: early childhood development, youth health and wellness, and career and college preparation, as well as other strategic partnerships supporting DE&I.
Enterprise Holdings operates – through an integrated global network of independent regional subsidiaries and franchises – the Enterprise Rent-A-Car, Alamo Rent A Car and National Car Rental brands, as well as more than 9,500 fully staffed neighborhood and airport locations in nearly100 countries and territories. Enterprise Holdings is the largest car rental company in the world, as measured by revenue and fleet. In addition, Enterprise Holdings is the most comprehensive service provider and only investment-grade company in the U.S. car rental industry.
Mr. Tabourne joined Enterprise in 1989 as a Management Trainee in Atlanta and quickly earned promotions to positions with increasing responsibility until he became the organization’s first Group Diversity Manager. In this role, he developed multicultural leadership initiatives and diversity strategies for the New York Group, one of the largest in the organization. Additionally, he increased diversity across all employee levels, community partners and vendors.
Because of his success in New York and Atlanta, Mr. Tabourne was promoted to Corporate Diversity Manager in St. Louis, where he led and implemented diversity equity & inclusion (DE&I) initiatives for the organization worldwide and became Assistant Vice President in 2008. He was promoted to Vice President of Diversity Strategic Initiatives in 2021.
Mr. Tabourne has been recognized with several professional awards, including a WDLS Diversity Champion Award, St Louis American Newspaper – Business Excellence Award and a DANDY Award. Mr. Tabourne holds a political science degree from Howard University in Washington, D.C., and currently serves as Board Chair for MERS/Goodwill Industries and the St. Louis Diversity Officers Network.
