From age six to sixty, the Black male in America is viewed through the distortions of racism and history. We see the evidence in our courtrooms and classrooms, in the health care system and in our public spaces. All too often, Black men and boys pay for these distortions with their lives. Is economic empowerment the solution? It is time to shatter the racist lens and lift its undue burden on Black lives.
