With all the stereotypes we’re fed about the breakdown of the Black family, Black love is an important reminder of the truths that exist in our communities. Meagan Good and DeVon Franklin are a great example of what it takes to build and maintain a solid foundation for success in love and life.
In 2015, the couple penned The Wait, a New York Times bestselling book that chronicles their road to marriage and the lessons they learned along the way. Good as an award-winning actor and Franklin as a celebrated TV and film producer were both heavily steeped in the entertainment industry and faced some of its pitfalls. They emphasize the power of patience and waiting as the key to finding meaningful connection in life.
We are excited to honor them both with an award for their hard work, dedication, and positive impact this summer. You will also have a chance to hear from DeVon at the One Movement Gospel Brunch and Family Session.
