Sheila Mixon
Senior Vice President, Business Development & Entrepreneurship/Urban League of Greater Cincinnati

As senior vice president of business development & entrepreneurship, Sheila A. Mixon provides vision, leadership, organizational governance, and strategic direction. Programs include the Small Business Development Center, the Economic Empowerment Center, and the Women’s Business Enterprise Council Ohio River Valley, where she serves as executive director.

Mixon has 41 years’ experience in business development, the financial services industry, and not-for-profit organizations. She is the recipient of many honors and recognitions, including the Minority Business Champion award from the Small Business Administration and the Women’s Business Champion award by the National Association of Women Business Owners. In 2017, the Women of Color Foundation established the Sheila A. Mixon Women’s Entrepreneurial Start-up Fund.

Mixon was recently appointed to the Cincinnati Academic Center Advisory Committee for Union Institute & University and is a member of the City of Cincinnati’s small business commission. She also serves on the board of directors for HCDC and the HCDC Entrepreneur Assistance Committee, the  Kauffman Advisory Group for the Kauffman Foundation, and the Women Business Enterprise Nationaal Council board of directors.

Mixon earned a bachelor's degree in business administration (concentration finance) from Ohio State University.
