Laura James
Laura is the East Region Community Relations Manager for UPS with the responsibility of managing the UPS Local Grants program for her respective territory, (which encompasses the states of Maine to Florida including the geography east of the Mississippi), and implementing UPS's strategy to advance the company's commitment to making local communities stronger.
A 24-year UPS veteran, Laura began her career in New York City as a part-time employee in the Industrial Engineering Departmeant and was later promoted into Industrial Engineering management upon receiving her degree in organizational management.
After a number of assignments within Industrial Engineering including roles in Package and Transportation operations, Laura then rotated into Human Resources and has held assignments within Employee Relations, Learning & Development and Workforce planning before assuming her current role.
Laura currently sits on the boards of St. Nicks Alliance (Vice Chair), Playworks of Greater NY/NJ (Chair), the Tri State Diversity Council, and the NYC Mayor’s Workforce Development Board. She is also an active member of the NAACP Corporate Advisory Board for ACT-SO.
