Speaker Bio
James McDonald is deeply committed to the inward growth of others. He is the National Manager of Inclusion & Diversity at AvalonBay Communities where he has worked for 10 years. He is a founding member of two employee resource groups at AvalonBay, the Black Associate Coalition, and the Associate Rainbow Coalition. As a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion leader he has been recognized as being a change agent for cultural climate transformation. You cannot enter his presence and not feel invigorated by his empowerment speaking or DEI motivational coaching.
In academia, James has a Diversity and Inclusion certification from Cornell University and a master’s in theology. He has published three books and been featured in several journals. He currently sits on the Board of Directors for Live Out Loud a non-profit organization dedicated to inspiring and empowering LGBTQ youth by connecting them with successful LGBT1 professionals in their community.
It is through radical vision that he is taking this new generation by storm, as he continues to reach for deeper depths and higher heights in the uplift.
