Dr. Debra B. Morton serves alongside her husband, Bishop Paul S. Morton, Sr., as founder of the Full Gospel Baptist Church Fellowship International. She is also co-founder of Daughters of the Promise, where she served as general overseer for over 20  years. In 1993, she became one of the first ordained female elders to preach in a Baptist pulpit. Dr. Morton serves on the board of MICAH, a faith-based organization of clergy that initiates change in the greater New Orleans community. She has organized voting empowerment sessions, community outreach, and civic engagements. Dr. Morton established Debra B. Morton ministries to provide intergenerational healing. She also founded DBM Arts & Entertainment Summer Camp and P.E.A.R.L.S, a mentoring program for girls. Currently, she is rebuilding a parent child center destroyed by Hurricane Katrina.
