Shannon-Janean Currie brings over a decade of expertise to her role at BSG. Her groundbreaking studies on the state of Black America and criminal justice reform provide crucial insights that inform social policy. In addition to working on two U.S. presidential campaigns, Shannon has collaborated with the ACLU, Fwd.us, the Joyce Foundation, StoryCorps, the Brennan Center for Justice, and the Walton Family Foundation, offering data-driven strategies that uplift communities. In 2022, Shannon conducted the groundbreaking “Pulse of Black America” survey for National Urban League, which shed light on the systemic barriers to equity and informed strategic program priorities for the organization.
