Candice Quarles
Candice Quarles was first elected to the DeSoto City Council in May 2016 in a special election and successfully re-elected in May 2018. She is currently the Director of Talent Management for a technology start-up company based in Dallas.
Prior to being elected, she served as a member of the City of Desoto’s Zoning Board of Adjustment. One of the guiding reasons that compelled Candice to run for City Council was to ensure that the next generation continued to have a real voice in helping to shape the future of the city.
Candice’s professional career spans over a decade in Human Resources in the private and public sector with distinguished consulting firm Deloitte coupled with experience in municipal government at the City of Grand Prairie, TX.
Outside of work Candice is involved in a variety of community organizations such as the Local Progress, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., National Urban League and is a member of Friendship West Baptist Church.
Candice also host politically focused YouTube channel, “Candid with Candice” where she interviews elected officials, discusses topics to educate and engage the next generation of voters.
Among her awards and recognitions are: 2018 Leadership Southwest Graduate, 2017 Young Elected Leaders- Taiwan Delegation, 2016 Speaker: Texas Democratic Convention, 2016 Leadership Dallas Graduate, Dallas Regional Chamber, 2015 Best New Start-up Pitch Competition Winner- NUL Small Business Matters, 2014 Dallas Business Journal’s Top Forty under 40 Honoree; 2014 National Urban League Distinguished President of the Year and “Southern Region Chapter of the Year,” and 2013 Young Alumnus of the Year, Missouri Western State University
Candice enjoys reading, volunteering, traveling with her husband and reading books to their toddler.
