Civil rights and personal injury attorney Ben Crump – a.k.a. “Black America’s attorney general” – is one of the nation’s foremost advocates for social justice, winning record settlements for victims of injustice and their families. Among others, he has represented the families of Trayvon Martin, Michael Brown, Breonna Taylor, George Floyd, Tyre Nichols, Malcolm X, the residents of Flint, Michigan, the descendants of Henrietta Lacks (in a landmark reparations case), and Randy Cox, whose police brutality case resulted in a historic $45 million settlement in 2023. Crump is the author of “Open Season:  Legalized Genocide of Colored People,” and the subject of the award-winning Netflix documentary, Crump has been ranked among the TIME100 Most Influential People of 2021, Ebony Magazine’s Power 100 Most Influential African Americans, and he National Trial Lawyers Top 100“Civil.” In 2023, St. Thomas University renamed its law school the Benjamin L. Crump  College of Law, a first for a practicing Black attorney.
